Writing For The Web: How Good Copy Becomes Bad Marketing

When it comes to writing websites, what is good for the search engines is often not good marketing.

Why? Because almost inevitably, when you write to please the search engines, you write about the features of your service. But you should be writing about the benefits for your customers.

This is a fundamental problem and one you have to take into account at every stage of creating the copy for your website. You have to achieve a balance between writing for people or writing for search engine robots. The balance will be subtly different for every business. You'll probably have to keep experimenting. It all depends really on how important search engine traffic will be to your organisation. First a quick recap on the basic issue of search engine copy.

Search engine optimisation (often called SEO) basically means making sure your website ranks highly with Google and other search engines. Google wants to give people the right, relevant information. It does this by reading the copy on your website.

If certain words are used frequently, Google will calculate that the site is relevant for that "keyword". When people search for that keyword, Google flags your site as one worthy of consideration.

So, when a copywriter creates his own website, he tries to use the word "copywriter" as frequently as possible.

It's no good just listing the word either. It needs to be in real sentences. What's more, it's much better to use the keyword at or near the start of a sentence. You also need the keyword in the main headline, in the first paragraph, and as often as possible thereafter.
So, you end up writing about you, the copywriter, and the copywriting that you can offer. Features of your service.

Where are your customers in all this? Any good copywriter, in fact even a complete beginner, knows that you need to turn the features of your service into benefits for the customer. It's just good marketing.

The copywriter should be explaining how he can increase sales, attract customers, save the client money, provide exceptional service and so on.

The same is likely to happen whatever business you're in. If you're a graphic designer, a client might come to you because they want you to create a professional image for their business.

But they don't search for "professional image", "design impact", or "creativity". They search for "graphic designer." So your copy has to keep mentioning "graphic designer" this, "graphic designer" that.

What's the solution? If you know an easy one, please share the secret. For most organisations and businesses, the answer is going to be a balance. You need to know how important Google searches are to you. If the answer is "not much" because visitors come from other sources – perhaps through a direct mail campaign, Internet advertising clicks, or because they are a regular customer and have you bookmarked – then your copy should weighted more towards good marketing, with less emphasis on search engine robots.

But if Google searches are everything to your organisation, then you'll have to play the game by their rules.

Carefully written copy can at least try to play both games. You can keep using keywords, but always bear in mind that you need to bring the focus back onto benefits for your customer.

It's not easy, and it can be a painstaking process. But that in essence, is what good web writing should be about: keeping one eye on the search engines and pleasing them when necessary, but always bringing it back to people, to customers, to benefits. Because that's good marketing.

How to Rank Better In Search Engines..

[1]. Your Web pages with content should be interested in reading.

As content is king for search engines content in your site should be both unique and interesting. This can improve your impression.

[2]. Content should be highly focused with keyword phrases.

Rather than phrases that are too general and competitive
specially when there is more competition.

[3]. Optimize your Web pages for at least three to five keywords at a time.

You should optimize your page for minimum three keywords-for three keywords your page should be highly relevant. for that you need to choose better keywords, choosing keywords is not a game of guessing. it is one science. Write your site's content using the keywords for which users search and you'll literally be speaking the same language as your visitors.

Useful sites:-Nichebot.com and Wordtracker.com

[4]. Use regionally specific keywords, when applicable.

If your target is regional than try to choose keywords that are regional.
Example:-you can choose 'loans in new York' rather than just 'loan in USA' that's why you will get highly targeted visitors and improve your visitor to sales ratio

[5]. Use the most commonly used variations of your keywords, with keyword research

Don't choose keywords that are highly competitive (specially when your page rank is low.) You can choose their synonyms etc.as per I said you need to do some research work for that. also consider some variation that can occur due to typing mistake etc..

[6]. each optimized page should contain a unique title.

It will some time meaningless if you will choose same title pages more than one. title tags are very important and perhaps you know that search engine give lots of weight to title if title of your page will different. Than you can get more traffic for more keywords. this is important.

[7].Use multiple keywords in your title tags when appropriate.

Choose better title for every page using synonyms etc..That you will probably also get traffic for that keywords too. but don't go overboard.

[8].Most important keywords appearing above the fold and throughout each optimized page.

First few lines are very important for search engine page relevancy. so write that with special care and using your all main keywords. also include your keywords in other part of page too.

[9]. Using keywords in hypertext links, whenever possible.

If you will use keywords in hypertext links than your page which you link will improve its page relevancy automatically

[10]. Each optimized page contains a unique meta-tag description.

Some search engines still give more weight to Meta tags so like title Meta tag should be different for each page if possible.

[11]. each optimized page contains a unique meta-tag keyword list.

Like Meta tags you should also change Meta tags wherever possible. and that keywords should also include in page body.

[12]. Place common misspellings of your keywords within your meta-tag keywords.

Many people using this system to get traffic you can use misspellings in your meta details and can drive traffic. due to typing mistakes of searchers

[13].your graphic images should contain descriptive keywords within the alternative text attribute, when appropriate.

Google also decide relevancy through name of icons, images etc..so try to include your keywords in it.

[14]. If you are submitting pages to non-U.S. search engines. write your pages in the appropriate language

if you will not do it. it may possible that in international search engines your rank will down.

Linking Your Way To The Top Of The Search Engines

One of the most important things you can do to raise your search engine rankings and drive more traffic to your site is to convince other websites to link to yours. It's free, of course, and very easy, but doing it properly does take some time and effort. I recommend a couple of ways to find websites which might be willing to link to you. One way is to do a simple search to find websites with information about the same subject as your site, or closely related information. If you have a website about flowers, for instance, you can use search terms such as "gardens", "gardening", "flowers", "plants", and "seedlings" to find sites which may be interested in linking to yours. Or, you can take another route. Just identify a related site which is already highly popular, and find the websites which link to it. You can do that with a search in Google or http://alltheweb.com for "link:" (without the quotation marks) and the complete URL of the website. For example, link: http://www.college-scholarships.com (and don’t forget the colon after the word "link"). Once you've identified the websites most likely to link to yours, visit them, obtain the email addresses of their webmasters, and send an email requesting a link. To be effective, your email must: 1. be brief, well written, and polite. Always use "please" and "thank you". 2. describe your site in no more than 25-30 words. The description of your site must be interesting and explain why the webmaster's visitors will find it helpful or enjoyable. The less hype the better. 3. offer the webmaster something in return. For example: a. a link on your site. b. information about how to submit their website to 300,000+ search engines, directories, and links pages for free. When they agree to link to you, send them to: http://www.college-scholarships.com/free_search_engine_submission.htm. Contact an average of at least ten webmasters a day, more if you have the time. With just a ten percent success rate, that will net you a minimum of thirty new links a month. If you follow this advice, you should experience an almost immediate, albeit modest, increase in visitors to your website. However, the biggest benefit of a good linking campaign, higher search engine rankings, will take a bit longer. There is no magic formula, and there are lots of variables, but your search engine ranking could improve in as little as a few weeks, and should continue to improve as time goes on and more sites link to you as both a direct result of your efforts and webmasters seeing your links on other sites. Keep at it and, all things being equal, you can obtain the kind of search engine rankings that can transform your website from a hobby (as my wife originally referred to my first site) to a site which can pay your children’s full college costs and more, as that same site now does for us.

Getting Indexed, A Little Patience?

Newbie's and Expert Internet Marketers all have one thing in common: Trying to get their websites indexed through the top three major search engines quickly. For larger websites the task is even more daunting, and there are a few small but effective techniques that can assist in the indexing process. Patience is a virtue and in today's internet marketing world patience and planning is a key. Smaller one or two page websites, also known as sales pages, are the easiest and quickest to get indexed in the three major search engines almost anyone can generally succeed by just manually submitting through each search engines submission process. Websites with a considerable number of pages will often only immediately get their first page indexed which therefore requires small effective planning strategies and a little bit of patience to become completely indexed. Effective Key Planning Strategies: (1) Prior to submitting your websites to the search engines or establishing link partners which will cause the search engines to start indexing in your website. Start planning out the basic website structure so that search engines robots can easily flow through your website and index each page. (a) Have an sitemap linked from you main index page that thinks through out your website. (b) If possible, ensure that each page is linked together, not just back to the main index page. This is not possible depending on what type of website you have, the number of pages, or your website design and structure. But this has been a successful technique in the past. (c) Build and submit a Google Sitemap. (2) Test your websites design and structure using Google Sitemap Software such as SOFTplus GSiteCrawler (Freeware) that will try and index your entire website. If your unsuccessful building a index of your entire website, then further planning and design changes maybe in order to index your entire website. If the software can not index your entire website, how will the search engine robots index your entire website? (3) Instead of manually submitting your websites, submit your website through directories and establish link partnerships. This will improve how often your website is crawled by the search engines and how fast your website is indexed. Also, when establishing link partnership and directories higher the Google Page Rank, the quicker your website will be indexed and how often your website is crawled. (4) Lastly, Patience. The process the search engine will go through while indexing your website is: First, the search engine will have to find your website (Hence, establishing partnerships with high Google Page Rank), then crawling through your website and absorbing all the information contained, then ranking each individual page and finally your website will appear in the search engine result pages (SERPs).

Participating In SEO Contests? Then You Have To Think Of A Well Structured Strategy To Win!

In normal niches the competition is not as killing as in SEO contests, well... except for the search engine optimization niche off coarse. But to be the best in an SEO contest you don't always have to have a big wallet, or a huge network of authority websites. You can also win with a good strategy, and good SEO tactics. The number one for the search engine contest keyword phrase is always the one everybody is focused upon. And everything that page does is being duplicated by hundreds of people. And that's not what you want, do you? You want to win by surprise. The best way is off course hitting the first spot a day before the end of the contest. But how can you do that? Well I'll explain it to you. First of all you need to get yourself indexed, get some low pagerank backlinks from some link directories or something. This is to know your position in the contest, once you rank at a spot for the specific key phrase you kind of know how hard it is going to be, if you rank on the first 3 pages of Google the competition isn't that hard. But if you rank at the tenth page it's going to be a little more difficult. The next thing is to use your network of websites. You can do that by placing a link from each website to your contest page. But if you have many websites and many pages on those websites, it can trigger a Google penalty, and you don't want that in the contest. What you also can do is creating a page on every website you own and link to that page from all the pages within the website. You will get high valuable links with a lot of weight because the links are on topic. Another tip from me is try to rank high with a handicap. If you screw up your on page optimization and you can rank high, you can give a final boost to your ranking by doing some on page optimization right before the contest ends. And off coarse do what I'm doing now: write articles. This is almost the most important thing in SEO, writing articles about the subject. This article is about SEO contests, and it would never been written if i never participated in the pvmultimedia seo contest. Also like you see above, you can put anything in your article, so put your targeted keywords in it for the contest. You can see I'm doing that as well, I wrote down the words pvmultimedia seo contest because those are the contest keywords. And if you write a lot of articles you have to submit them to ezinarticles.com and other big article directories, they will be all over the web in no-time. All organic backlinks from highly optimized content related web pages from all around the globe, all different ip addresses, all with the one link you prefer, all one way links. This is the way to be the best, not money, no networks just be smart and stay out of sight.

Should Meta Tags Be Used With Search Engine Optimization?

I deal with many questions from curious website owners everyday. One question I have a new answer for is, "Should I use META tags on my site when do search engine optimization?" Old Answer: It couldn't hurt, but don't worry about them, the search engines ignore them for the most part. New answer? Read on...

Should I really use a META tag? Really?

The new answer is yes, you should use META tags on your site. The keyword META tag is still not used by search engines but when submitting to directories, a valuable use of time by the way, the META keywords are used in many cases to automatically fill in the keywords for your site in that directory.

Even more amazingly, the META description tag has soared in importance. How so you ask? Google has started showing the META description in its search results when certain criteria are met.

The criteria being used appears to be very simple, unlike many of the other things Google does. When the keyword or search terms appear in the META description, the META description is used instead of the snippet of text containing the keyword on your page.

For example, if you do a search in Google for 'Big Oak SEO' you will see our site in the first listing and the description used is our META description tag. All three words being searched for are also in our META description.

If you do a search for 'big oak client' you will see the first listing is pulling a snippet of text from the page itself. Since 'client' is not in our META description, it uses a snippet of text from the page where all three words can be found.

Where should you use a META description tag?

Every website should use a META description tag on the home page at the very least. This way you can say exactly what you want and not worry the snippet of text being used is not best choice for your message. What this really means is Google is giving us some measure of control.

And now that we have this knowledge and control, how best to use it? This allows us to take off our search engine optimizer hats and don our search engine marketer hats. Think of what you can say in the brief sentence that will entice a user to click your link rather than the one above or below. You can put your phone number in the META description for starters or how about being really creative and offer a discount or advertise a sale. Tell them your unique selling proposition. It should be a one sentence phrase already in your head. The only caveat to remember is that your META description will only show if the search term is in the META description. While this can be tricky, it can be done with some forethought. You can do this for all of your targeted pages and have dozens of marketing messages.

Use the META description wisely: target your market and entice your customers. Do not abuse this control and put outlandish, untrue or slanderous statements as I am sure Google will be watching; and if this technique is abused the META description may have seen its last search result this time.

Get The Most Out Of Your SEO Professional

Many businesses go through all kinds of steps before hiring a search engine optimization professional. Unfortunately, they often then sabotage that person from the outset.

Get The Most Out Of Your SEO Professional

As a person providing seo services, I can tell you there is one area that is almost always a point of conflict with clients. This area has to do with communication, particularly from the client to the person or business handling the seo campaign.

Many businesses sabotage their seo professional right from the start of the game. It all has to do with knowledge. A seo professional is very knowledgeable about the search engine ranking process. He or she can tell you oodles of information about algorithms, back links, inbound links, keyword density and other issues you probably are not particularly interested in. On the other hand, it is a mistake to assume your seo wizard is knowledgeable about your product or service area.

Any business has a secret bit of crucial knowledge locked away in the minds of a few individuals high up in the company. This knowledge is protected with great effort since it is deemed to be the key to success for the business. Although each business is different, this nugget usually has to do with why prospects purchase the product or service being offered by the business. If you do not provide this information to your seo professional, problems will arise.

Consider the following situation. A seo firm is retained by a client selling products. The seo rep asks all kinds of questions about the typical customer for the business, product lines and so on. From this, a keyword list is developed and the client is asked to review it and make any comments about any additions they can think of. The business reports no changes. A year down the line, the client has top rankings on dozens of high traffic keywords on Google, Yahoo and MSN, but sales are less than expected.

At this point, there is usually a serious meeting with the players to try to figure out what is going on. During the meeting, some little tidbit is mentioned that makes the seo professional groan. The tidbit is inevitably internal business information regarding why prospects purchase from the business.

In our example above, the business sold products in the active lifestyle industry. Top rankings were obtained on all the relevant subjects. Sales were crap. During the serious, serious meeting, it was leaked that 8 out of 10 purchasers asked for the product to be gift wrapped! ARRRRRGGGG! The seo campaign was tailored to people interested in active lifestyles, not people that were looking to buy gifts for such people. Our sales were terrible because the listings were appearing in front of the wrong audience!

Yes, this really happened. Fortunately, keyword modifications were made and the site rebounded in the rankings after a few months. Whereas the site previously converted at 1 in 1,000, it now converts at 1 in 30. The next meeting was much more informal. In fact, there were plenty of beverages and I took the next day off.

If you are going to retain someone to handle your seo efforts, or any marketing for you, do not hold back information. Understanding who and why people buy is a pivotal part of developing a keyword list for a seo campaign.

Why Give a Lot of Thought on Search Engine Optimization

When you own a web business you have to be aware that a strong web presence and high brand respect means higher sales and increased profits. But if your website ranks beyond the top twenty positions in the search engine listings you have a small hope of getting people to check out your site. No matter how good your products are and how exciting and stunning your pages are, you won’t still be able to get the required traffic.

There are essentially three ways for a customer to get to your site. First is for the customer to type your website address. The only problem with this is that people have to actually know your web address in order to use it. The second way is for people to link to your site from other website. Again, the problem with this is that the other sites must grant you permission to post a link on their site. The third method is for a customer to find your site through a search engine. And this is how you plunge into the world of search engine optimization.

Consider this situation: if you get a visitor to your site from a search engine, chances are the person is interested in your products. Although there are instances that some high school kid happen to stumble on your site because he was writing an essay on candle making. Just the same there is a possibility that he also wants to buy candles from you. You just simply have to convert this visit into a sale.

When it comes to online marketing, search engine optimization is the key to obtaining visitors at very little cost. To increase your website’s traffic, it should rank within the top positions in the results of the major search engines. You also have to make sure that your site keeps its ranking over along period of time.

However, search engines consider dozens of aspects to rank sites. For instance, Google says they have more than a hundred standards in their ranking system. Basically, the search engine has to be convinced that your site contains the information that the browser is looking for. For this purpose you need a lot of keyword rich content. If you have lots of articles with information on candles but you have not used the keyword candles often enough, you may lose the battle. Apart from keywords, you can boost your search engine rankings by using links on your site. This convinces the search engine that yours is an important site therefore more likely to have useful information.

Search engine optimization is, thus, one of the important marketing tools available today. So what are you waiting for? Work on those rankings to get the customer that you need. Remember that for every second that you waste you could be losing out on those all-important visitors that could translate into customers for your business.

Increase your website Traffic

Anyone who owns a website wants it to be extremely popular with high amounts of traffic that converts to new business. This is the always the case whether its a local service like Andrew Hill Salon, a big company like WH Smith or a national charity such as the PCRF (Prostate Cancer Research Foundation). By developing websites everyday, we have a vast understanding of not only design, accessibility and usability for a website but more importantly, search engine optimisation. Search engine optimisation is a very competitive area with every web site wanting to come on the first page for particular key phrases. Companies want the number 1 spot in Google as well as Yahoo, MSN and AltaVista - the major players in the search engine world.

Animation Technologies focus their web site optimisation both on-site and off-site optimisation on the search engine Google, the reason being, 72.8% of online users use Google as their primary search engine. It is also the case that if you get website optimisation right in Google - gaining a high page rank - it is often the case that the other search engines will follow, even though each one has its own unique algorithm for ranking web sites.

To increase your website traffic takes not only excellent search engine optimisation but also a number of other factors which make up your website on the whole.

Learn about usability - Having a great looking website is useless if users cannot use the website and view the content.

Invest in a good design - Design is not the be all and end all of a website, it is one key aspect that will make a first impression on the user, so quality is important gaining the visitors trust.

Keep it up to date - Your website needs to look fresh, new and great. If the website has outdated news, broken links or hideous graphic animations, this will all deter users.

How To Trick The Search Engines

How to Trick the Search Engines
In a Zen sort of Way

Everybody is looking for the magic formula that will get their site listed on the first page of Google. Because of this, the internet is full of search engine optimization experts that are willing to take your money once they sell you on their new theory of Google’s algorithm. You have your choice of SEO Consultant to full fledged SEO Corporations all willing to take your money and optimize your site. None of them will promise specific results.

That’s because Google is a very sophisticated search engine and their algorithm changes constantly. Google’s algorithm has one primary goal and that is to deliver relevant content. All of this effort is to identify good websites with quality content and to weed out the sites that are "optimized" to trick the algorithm. Therefore… if you have a good website with quality content then “optimizing” your site may be counter-productive if there's even a slight chance that Google would think you’re using tricks.

That’s right, let Google’s algorithm smell your website optimization techniques and your status as a good website with quality content may be in jeopardy. Google is looking for websites whose webmasters are putting their time and energy in to building and maintaining a good website with quality content not spending their time and energy trying to trick the algorithm. So, the best thing you can do is to put your time and energy in to the reason you built your website in the first place. Whatever that reason may be, it probably was not to learn and practice SEO techniques.

Be organic. Be yourself, even be one with your website. Google likes sites that are organic and built by people with a clear purpose. Understand and embrace the algorithm. Do not fear it and try to trick it. It is there to do good.

As I’ve said before, don’t lose sleep over search engine optimization, lose sleep over conversion rate. Spend your time maximizing your site for your visitors. A good site with quality content will get top rankings naturally.

So, the trick to tricking the search engines is to have no trick at all. How much easier can that be?

If search engine optimization was a major player in your marketing plan, here’s a great site to learn about other website marketing methods: http://www.wilsonweb.com/a/go.to/Ogre

New Web - Site Promotion Ideas

What do you do when you have a brand new shiny web site, and no way of promoting it? Well for starters you could hold an online press conference. This is actually a very simple process. You will either hire a professional to write out a web press release and have it reviewed by an editor, or you can be brave and take your chances by writing it yourself. When you decide to do it yourself you take a great risk of being either very disappointed, or shut down entirely.

There are other ways of promoting your new web site however; you could always go the route of affiliation. This is a good method of not only promoting your new site, but an easy fashion of making some quick money as well. How this works is you sign up for an affiliation to a site, generally you will want to find a site that has some relevance to the site you are trying to promote. When ever someone goes to the site you are affiliated with, and they link on to your site by pay per click method it takes them to your site and right into the thick of your content. This can be the unfortunate part, whenever someone clicks onto your site from your affiliate; you end up paying the affiliate for the transfer of sites. Although this could easily be a very small fee to the affiliate, the point to remember is if they come and you pay the affiliate, there is no guarantee that they will buy from you.

This could easily become a very costly endeavour if you are getting many time wasters, and no buyers. This is where you will be paying for people to view but not pay. As you know this is no way to conduct a business. Sometimes people go to the extent of hiring a service that guarantees web traffic. This service states that they can increase traffic to your site, or generate hits if you like. The problem with this theory however, is that you cannot guarantee anything, you can never be sure that you will ever generate traffic, let alone sales. This is in no way to say that the program that they offer is a complete waste of time and money, it is just that absolutely no organization or single person alike can truly guarantee that they can generate traffic for you to the point that you will see successful results on your site.

Which leads back to the first mentioned thought, is it not worth the time, money, and effort, to ensure that you are getting the best exposure for your site? Don’t waste your money, time, and sanity wondering whether or not you will receive this exposure to your site. Go get it yourself.

How Use A Press Release To Get A Flood Of High Quality, One-Way Links To Your Website

In this article I want to give you a white-hat (read ethical good guys) search engine optimization technique to dramatically increase one-way links into your site.

You most probably know that in order to rank well you need lots of in-bound links, and not just any kind of link. They have to be links from thematically related web pages/web sites.

So let's say that you have a website about how to build a straw bale house. I order to get links to it, you are going to need to hunt down websites that are themed around "straw bale building", "sustainable building", " natural building", "green architecture" etc.

One of the quickest ways to get one-way links (not reciprocal links) is by sending out press releases. I have been using PRweb for this since 2004, primarily because they are a highly respected service and you can choose either a free or paid submission.

I recently submitted a press release for a software tool I had put together. I paid $80 to PRweb.com (you can submit your release for free though, but I wanted to increase my exposure) and here are the following stats to date:

Reads - 71,232 (This number shows how many times my press release was accessed on PRWeb).

Estimated Pickups - 2,491 (The number of times my release was picked up by a media outlet).

When I look in Google I see that this press release returns 399 results. All with links pointing back to my website. Not bad for about one hours work.

But remember, you can't just throw up a keyword stuffed press release in the vague hope that you will get distribution. Which is why I advise that you stay away from any so-called "press release submission software".

Think about it. Webmasters want to provide value to their visitors, so only good, high quality content will get picked up. Spam will not!

And as with search engine submission, you don't need to submit to every single search engine out there, you just need to get picked up by a couple and the rest follow. The same is true for submitting press releases, and PRWeb.com is the Google of the press release distribution services.

If you want to see an excellent example of how to write a search engine optimized press release take a look at http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/10/prweb296086.htm for inspiration.

Also many folk are under the misunderstanding that the value of the link comes from being on the press release service, well that's not the case, the value of the link comes from the site that posts your press release. So the more thematically similar the publication site is to yours, the more value the link will carry. Yet another reason to submit high quality press releases.

Linking Strategies for Newbies

One of the most crucial mistakes I made when I first started Internet Marketing was not completely understand the importance of proper back linking, anchor tags, keywords and the title tag. The most important things to search engines is providing relevancy to search results using keywords in the anchor tags and back links. Back links to your website has become one of the most or if not important aspects to better Search Engine Result Positioning (SERP) using your keywords in your anchor tags.

One of the most common mistakes that I personally made with my website was in the title was:

Title: Succeed Online with ES-Solution

The problem with that title was; What does that have to do with my website and keywords? Search Engines base a lot of importance on the keywords and the anchor tag contained in the back link. Additionally, I submitted my website to many directories and search engines using that title. What I am telling the search engines? That my most important keyword or keyword phrase is “Succeed Online with ES-Solution.” How many possible searchs do you believe would have that exact phrase or keywords? Zero.

My rankings for my keyword phrase “Internet Marketing eBooks” were even more horrible!

Steps to avoiding this same mistake:

Step 1: Never using a descriptive title

Step 2: Choose the most relevant Keywords for your Title

Step 3: Create back links using the appropriate anchor tag.

My actions:

1. I changed my title to “Internet Marketing eBooks”. Another important idea behind your title and keywords is that the search engines will shift around your keywords to make more phrases. I only have 3 Keywords but using different combination, I have 3 good keyword pharses:

(1) Internet Marketing eBooks
(2) Marketing eBooks
(3) Internet Marketing

2. And I began re-submiting my website to directories and search engines with the proper title (anchor tag): “Internet Marketing eBooks”

My results:

(1) I have several back links with the anchor text “Internet Marketing eBooks”, but unfortunately I still have some of the old back links with the anchor text “Succeed on with ES-Solution” dropping my overall relevancy to 54% when it should be 100%.

(2) I have managed to achieve the number one ranking as of 6 December 2005 for the keyword phrase “Internet Marketing eBooks” in MSN and the number two ranking in Yahoo.

Improving Your Website For More Sales

If you create more value for your customers, you will get more sales. So to increase your success you must make adding value to your website a top priority. This is directed towards Information marketing, (one of the best ways to make money), but can generally be applied to any web site. Here are some great tips to making your site the best it can be:

1.You can add more value by adding more pages to your site
Think about creating a whats new page or a FAQ page to increase your customer service. People will appreciate the new helpful information.
2.Add new products
You need to be adding to your current products to increase your sales. No one can buy from you more than once if you only have one product! This can also attract more customers if you write more material that wasn't in the first book, or if you write about a different topic in your niche market.
3.Test different versions of your website
The only real way to figure out exactly what website set-up is best is to make different versions, and test them out. Keep the one that makes the most sales!
4.Add audio
This can be a great selling point on your website. Adding audio creates a greater connection between you and your customers. The more they feel safe buying from you, the more often they will buy your product. Audio is also good because your customers are more likely to stop and listen to your audio then they are to read a sales letter. You can also use audio in combination with a sales letter.
5.Add testimonials
Your customers will love the reassurance of previous customer's great experiences with your product.
6.Improve current content
Add value to your current information to generate more sales. Create more chapters in your e book and maybe even widen your topic range. Widening your topic range creates more of a market and that means more customers. Just be careful to stay in your general market so your customers will still be interested. When you add more content you may want to have an idea in mind for a sequel.
7.Add more paragraphs to your sales letter
Add more text to your sales letter, so your customer gets more bang for their reading time. Don't forget to mention what your product can do for them and all the great things that are included!

Use these tips to keep your website updated and ready to take on your competition.

Best Wishes!

SEO contests a new effective way of internet marketing

First, let me explain you what a SEOcontest is. A SEOcontest is a contest where every webmaster can build a website or page about a special keyword. There must be no results in the targeted search engine for that keyword or keyphrase. So most contests have not existing words in them or have the site name of the sponsor in the keyphrase. Like the ambatchdotcom seocontest. Where you need to rank number 1 in Google for the keyphrase ambatchdotcom seocontest. And when you become number one in Google or another search engine and you stay at that spot until the end of the contest you win the main price. Normally thousands of dollars.

But how can a simple seocontest sponsor make profits from such a contest if it costs that much? That will be explained in this article.

The most big contests dure a couple of months or even half a year. So it can attract a lot of webmasters/SEO's because they can jump in any time, even if the contest is already going on for a month. And big prices attract big amounts of media and participants. So you're brand gets big attention for a long time.

Also, most contests contain the main keywords or the site name or the sponsor of the contest. Like the ambatchdotcom seocontest. The sponsor is ambatch.com. The contest is already going for a month and there are allready over 500,000 participants who promote the name ambatch.com. So when you start a SEOcontest you will be known in the whole webmaster world. Also a lot of contests like the Cpayscom2 Online Casino contest have they're main keywords in them. In the Cpayscom2 Online Casino contest the keyphrase is Cpayscom2 Online Casino to rank in msn at the first spot. But cpays.com is an affiliate program for online casinos, so the participants are not only promoting the main sponsor but also the main keyphrase of that sponsor.

In most contests there are rules. A common used rule is that you have to place a link back to the sponsor of the contest. So in the Cpayscom2 Online Casino you have to place a link back to cpays.com with the text online casino. But every participant has been optimizing their website for the keyphrase Cpayscom2 Online Casino. That keyphrase contains the words online casino. So every backlink from a participating page is a high value backlink! And if there are 500,000 participating websites, it makes the sponsor a huge jump in the serps and lots of traffic and....MONEY!

Conflicting SEO Expectations

SEO is undisputedly the best method for generating traffic and profits. That being said, you need to understand the inherent conflict that can arise with SEO.

Conflicting SEO Expectations

SEO is both the technical effort and art of getting your site ranked highly in search results on Google, Yahoo and MSN. There are two competing factors in the effort, time and volume of traffic, which can lead to clients having unreasonable expectations.

The conflict giving rise to misunderstood SEO expectations deal with keywords. Obviously, an optimization program is designed to get you high in the rankings on various keywords. The problem, of course, is the more traffic a keyword produces, the higher the number of sites competing for rankings under the phrase. Inevitably, this translates to a longer period of time required to get top rankings.

Obviously, most clients want to obtain top rankings as quickly as possible. The best way to do this is identify those keywords that have decent traffic, but few sites competing for rankings. In such a campaign, clients see results relatively quickly, but they have fallen into a trap. Even if they go into the number one position across the top three search engines, they have limited the amount of traffic they can receive. This leads to frustration as revenues are effectively capped.

A proper optimization plan should focus on both short and long term rankings. When laying out the site, the home page and other centralized pages should be devoted to keywords with monstrous amounts of traffic that will require a lot of time to obtain top rankings on. To counterbalance this, additional pages should be built focusing on keywords for which there is less traffic, but for which high rankings can be acquired relatively quickly.

The exact time periods on this approach are entirely dependent on the subject matter of the site and the keywords involved. For a brand new site, one can expect to see rankings on MSN within a month, Yahoo in four to six months and Google in six to nine months. For an established site, the figures will be shorter but it is dependent upon the results of the keyword research in the specific field.

Understanding optimization is the key to having reasonable SEO expectations. A mix of short and long term goals is the best method of attack in nearly every situation.

Getting To The Top Of The Search Engines.

Climbing to the Top.

Have you ever had a friend call you and say, “Hey, I googled myself today and actually found me!” Cool, you think. You go to your computer and try to google your friend as well. Nothing comes up. You tell her. “Oh, well, you have to click “next” at the bottom of the page. Keep clicking that until you’re on like, the forty-seventh page—do you see me yet?!” Of course, just keep clicking “next,” why didn’t you think of that?

You didn’t think of it for the same reasons millions of other people searching the Internet don’t think of it. They’re either in too much of a hurry to pay attention to anything after the first results page, or they’ve come to believe that anything after the first results page isn’t as interesting or helpful.

Getting your website and business on search engines is a good way to help promote yourself, but getting to the top of the search engines is where you want to be. After all, people aren’t going to keep clicking until they find your site on the forty-seventh page. People don’t even know they’re looking for your site. It’s your job to put it out there so it’s easy for them to find, and one way you can do this is by getting to the top of the search engines.

Before you submit your website to a search engine you want to first make sure your site is rich in content and that you are avoiding all spam and html tricks. Then, once you’re listed, keep these keep points in mind:

-the higher your number of inbound links, the better
-pay loving attention to each page of your site
-keeping keywords at the top of your page is the best place; matching search phrases is more effective than matching single words
-elaborate graphics are not helpful

Once you’ve been successful in getting to the top of the search engines, you must keep working to keep yourself there. It is crucial to monitor your status on a regular basis, and pick up the step if you position on search engine result pages starts to slip.
